Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and ‘diminish the difference’ between them and their peers. (Department for education)
In the academic year 2016-2017, at Somercotes Infant and Nursery School, the current percentage of Pupil Premium (PP) children is 41 % which equates to 70 children. Additional funding through the pupil premium is allocated to meet the needs of this specific group of children in the form of: a dedicated team of one part time intervention teacher, one higher level teaching assistant and teaching assistant support for intervention groups in English and Maths, booster activities, Positive Play, individual support and transition activities to support pupils transferring to our feeder Junior School. Pupil Premium monies also support some of the work of our Family Support Worker.
If you think your child may be entitled to the Pupil Premium, please see the additional information and apply online at or alternative speak to Mrs Ryde in the School Office for a Pupil Premium Registration Form.
